Hey Hartpury University Students! I’m Andrew Shattock, I'm a third year sports and exercise science student that is also part of Hartpury BUCs rugby, and I’m excited to help as your Student Officer of Representation for the 2024-2025 academic year! My goal is simple: to make Hartpury an even better place for all of us. Together, we can create a more inclusive, vibrant, and supportive student community where every voice is heard and valued.
Project: Student Voice Ongoing
I'll be hosting regular forums where you can directly share your concerns, ideas, and suggestions. This is your chance to be heard, to connect, and to influence the changes you want to see! When issues are brought up by the student body, I’ll be here to listen, act, and find practical solutions. Whether it’s access to services, academic support, or community activities, your concerns will be addressed with urgency and care.
Project: Transportation Monitoring Ongoing
I know how challenging public transport can be – I've faced it myself! I’ll be actively monitoring the situation and working with local authorities to advocate for better, more affordable transportation options for all students.
Project: Fostering Comfort for All Students Starting Soon
For both international and home students, I’ll work on initiatives that make it easier to settle in and find your groove. From social events to support services, my aim is to create a welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels at home.
Project: Promoting Unity Across All Communities Starting Soon
I’m committed to bridging the gap between the sports, animal, and equine communities here at Hartpury. By diversifying the student board and encouraging more open dialogue, we’ll ensure that everyone feels included, regardless of background or interests.
So, let’s make this year one of positive change, connection, and growth! Together, we can build a Hartpury where every student thrives. Let’s do this!

Hey! I’m Morgan and I’m a 3rd year Equine Science student. I was in this role last year and really enjoyed it. I’m passionate about spreading awareness on various issues and causes that effect so many students, but making real actions happen and come to life is what I really aim for. Outside of the SU I love to hike and work with horses, as well as running my own photography business.
Project: Improving rest stops around campus Starting Soon
From various student feedback our hilly campus needs more rest stops. I aim to survey the campus as to where these will be helpful and find the most affordable seating options. Then I aim to present these finding to hartpury in hopes that these accessibility points can be fulfilled.
Project: Black Lives Matter Campaign Starting Soon
Black History Month is an incredibly important time to appreciate, recognise and celebrate the rich history, culture, and contributions of Black individuals throughout history, many of which have been historically overlooked or marginalised. I aim to plan a fundraiser event to help educate and raise awareness for the current struggles.
Project: SU Contacts Collation Ongoing
I started this project last year and I hope to complete it this 1st semester. The collation will be a document that any student will have access to all the contacts in one place within hartpury and externally that could be helpful to students for wellbeing, finances, legal advice, housing, maintenance and academics. I hope all of this being in one place will make it easier for students to navigate and find the support they need.

Hi, I’m Emily, I’m a final year Equine Business Management student at Hartpury, and a member of the Hartpury Hockey Club, whereby I have been appointed Chair for the 2024/25 season. As well as this, in previous years I have undertaken a social secretary role for the team, where I gained great experience in how to promote the club. I am keen to gain recognition of the clubs and societies at Hartpury among fellow students, and support the start-up of new experiences for students. I applied for the Clubs and Societies Officer role as for me being a part of a club has really excelled my uni experience through getting me active and meeting new people, who I now class as close friends. I also recognised that the clubs and societies opportunities at Hartpury are very unrecognised, which I would like to change!
Project: Train, develop and support our SU Clubs and Societies Ongoing
I am excited to meet our committees in the coming weeks to find out about their goals and support them in further developing their activities and fundraising potential throughout the year. I will be supporting the handover period in March and training the new committees in April.
Project: Support the development of new clubs and societies Starting Soon
I aim to support students to start up a new club or society that they are passionate about. If you have a hobby you are keen to share, get in touch!
Project: Promote opportunities available to students Ongoing
Within my role, I want to promote the opportunities the Student Union host so students can have fun and meet like-minded people. I plan on displaying posters around campus of the current clubs and societies and by using the SU’s social media platforms to showcase these circles, as well as the freedom to develop interests that the Student Union provides.
Project: Student voice on the health and safety forum Starting Soon
I aim to empower students through seeking their views and opinions, and representing these views in meetings, such as the Health and Safety Forum, and through encouraging the expression of their passions and interests and provide safe spaces that they can enjoy together to enhance their student experience.
