Estranged and Care Estranged Students (EaCES)

The EaCES Handbook (link here) is a free virtual guide written by estranged and care experienced students, as well as orphaned and refugee students, to bring together information and advice to help other students from the same background - including official support, examples of their own experiences, and practical tips. The Handbook is designed to support students pre-entry, throughout our time at University and after your degree.

 

It highlights the following topics: accommodation, becoming estranged, benefits, bereavement, claiming your culture, domestic abuse, healthy relationships, homelessness, life skills, meeting others from similar backgrounds, mental health & wellbeing and unlearning unhealthy behaviours.
